Getting Started
Your First Session
Starting therapy can feel daunting, but I aim to make the process as comfortable as possible.
We'll begin with a free 15-minute consultation — either by phone or in person — where you can share a little about what's brought you to counselling. This is also your chance to ask any questions and see if you feel comfortable working with me.
If we decide to work together, our first full session will focus on getting to know each other better. We'll discuss your background, what you're hoping to achieve, and how we might work together. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with — we move at your pace.
Sessions typically take place weekly at the same time, providing a consistent, reliable space for your work. However, I'm flexible and we can discuss what works best for your situation.
Important: This counselling service is not suitable for emergencies or crisis situations. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact the Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7), call 999, or go to your nearest A&E.
